A superior 5G experience
iPhone 12
Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max deliver an advanced 5G experience on a global scale
thanks to a design that seamlessly integrates world-class hardware and
software. With 5G, iPhone offers increased speeds for faster downloads
and uploads, better streaming video playback quality, smoother gaming
experiences, real-time interaction in apps, FaceTime in HD and much
more. Customers will now also be able to enjoy a fast and secure
connection, reducing the need to connect to public Wi-Fi networks.
With the
most 5G bands in a smartphone, iPhone 12 Pro models offer the most 5G coverage
in the world. 1 Models sold in the United States support millimeter
wave technology, the higher frequency version of 5G, which enables speeds of up
to 4 Gbps to be achieved even in the most densely populated
areas. Different iPhone 12 Pro models also feature Smart Data mode, which
optimizes battery life through intelligent analysis of 5G needs to balance
data, speed, and power consumption in real time.
A14 Bionic: powerful and efficient
The A14
Bionic chip is generations ahead of the competition and is the first in the
smartphone industry to be developed using the 5-nanometer process. The A14
Bionic chip is faster and more efficient than any other chip, with 50% faster
CPU and GPU compared to the fastest chips in competing smartphones, for
console-quality gaming, the best of computational photography and much more, while
extending battery life. In addition, the A14 Bionic chip pushes the limits
of machine learning (ML) with a 16-core Neural Engine that optimizes
performance by up to 80% and is capable of completing 11 trillion operations
per second, even in machine learning tasks. More demanding.
New design and innovative technologies for
the screen
iPhone 12
Pro models are made with premium materials, a sophisticated
flat-edged design, an attractive surgical-grade stainless steel band, and a
precision-molded matte glass back. They also incorporate an incredibly
durable Ceramic Shield front that is stronger than any smartphone glass, as it
contains nano-ceramic crystals that incredibly improve its durability and make
it 4 times more resistant to falls. two
The
6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro and 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max 3 feature a
much larger edge-to-edge Super Retina XDR display with thinner bezels in the
sizes you're already familiar with, with consistent color management across the
board. system to achieve industry-leading accuracy. Plus, iPhone 12 Pro
Max has the largest screen ever on an iPhone and the highest resolution—nearly
3.5 million pixels—for a richer, more realistic viewing experience. These
OLED displays bring HDR video content to life and reach a maximum brightness of
1200 nits.
iPhone 12
Pro models have industry-best IP68 water resistance, allowing up to 30 minutes
at a maximum depth of 6 meters, and protection against everyday splashes like
coffee and soda. 4
Versatile Pro Camera System
The
world's best pro camera is a much more versatile tool for photography and video
enthusiasts of all levels, thanks to its advanced hardware powered by the A14
Bionic chip. The new Image Signal Processor (ISP) together with the A14
Bionic chip improves image quality and enables powerful computational
photography capabilities not possible with traditional cameras. iPhone 12
Pro models will also include Apple ProRAW later this year 5, which
combines Apple's multiple exposure image
processing
and computational photography with the versatility of the RAW
format. Users will be able to explore their creativity through full
control of color, detail and dynamic range using apps that come pre-installed
on iPhone or other professional photo editing apps.
The
wide-angle camera on iPhone 12 Pro features a seven-element lens with an ƒ/1.6
aperture, the fastest ever on an iPhone, delivering 27% better low-light photos
and videos. The ultra-wide camera covers a 120-degree field of view,
making it ideal for expanding your angle of view in tight spaces or epic
landscapes. And the telephoto camera has a 4x optical zoom range and a
52mm focal length, great for taking portraits.
iPhone 12
Pro Max takes the professional photography experience even further. The
new ƒ/1.6 aperture wide-angle camera comes with a 47% larger sensor and 1.7μm
pixels, which translates to an impressive 87% improvement in low-light
settings. It also includes the large ultra wide-angle camera and a 65mm
focal length telephoto camera, which allows for greater flexibility in
close-ups and close-ups. This combined system offers a 5x optical zoom
range.
Improvements
to Night mode, which now also brings the TrueDepth and wide-angle cameras, make
it possible to take even brighter photos. Fast Camera with Night Mode
offers longer exposure times to capture sharper video and better light trails,
and smoother exposure in low-light scenarios when using a tripod. Now
better and faster, Deep Fusion is available on all cameras, and thanks to the
new Smart HDR 3, users will achieve more realistic images, even in complex
scenes.
iPhone 12
Pro models offer the highest video quality in a smartphone and are the first
cameras and only devices in the world to offer an edge-to-edge Dolby Vision
experience with HDR video recording at up to 60 fps, and a even better video
stabilization for cinema-quality productions. Color correction in Dolby Vision is
rendered live and maintained during editing, whether in the Photos app or
iMovie, and will be available in Final Cut Pro X later this year. Dolby
Vision takes advantage of the Super Retina XDR display to deliver incredible
contrast during video capture and playback, and users can share their videos
with external devices thanks to 4K Dolby Vision AirPlay support. 6
Realistic experiences with augmented reality
and innovative cameras
The Pro
line now comes with a new LiDAR scanner, which makes it possible to measure the
distance of light and use the pixel-level depth information of a
scene. This technology provides more realistic experiences with augmented
reality and improves autofocus by 6 times in low light scenes for greater
precision and faster capture time in photos and videos. This advanced
hardware, coupled with the power of the A14 Bionic chip's Neural Engine, also
enables portrait shooting with Night mode, which generates beautiful bokeh in
low-light environments.
